ABOUT

OUR MISSION

To make disciples of Jesus Christ and to encourage believers to advance in their
faith under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through the preaching and teaching of
God’s Word and through Christian fellowship.

OUR VISION

The Vision of Cherry Run Camp is to glorify God by loving others as He loves us. It is the desire to see everyone experience spiritual and eternal victory in Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to achieve scriptural freedom from sin. To enable all to live victorious Christian lives according to the Truth of the Word. We will give witness to the cause of Jesus Christ so lives are changed in the secular world and broader church. Lives will be transformed by the renewal of our minds; our roots will grow deep, and faith will grow strong. Cherry Run will form disciples of Jesus Christ who are equipped for service in their local church, community, and to the ends of the world.

What is Cherry Run Camp?

Cherry Run Camp is a Christian family camp that is located 70 miles north of Pittsburgh and nestled in the rolling hills of Western Pennsylvania.

We are a non-profit, Christ-centered ministry rooted in the Wesleyan-holiness tradition, where evangelism and discipleship are modeled through structured teaching, equipping, and fellowship. We are a place where children, youth and adults can come to grow in faith, regardless of generation or denomination.

For over 150 years, Cherry Run Camp has been dedicated to the cause of Jesus Christ. Our primary mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and to encourage believers to advance in their faith under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, through the preaching and teaching of God’s Holy Word and through Christian fellowship.

Statement of Faith

At the heart of Cherry Run Camp is a steadfast commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the guiding truths of Scripture. Our Statement of Faith outlines the core beliefs that shape our ministry, community life, and spiritual purpose. Whether you’re exploring your own faith journey or simply want to understand the foundation upon which this camp was built, we invite you to take a moment to read our Statement of Faith. It offers a clear picture of who we are and what we stand for—rooted in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition and inspired by the transforming power of God’s Word.

What is the Wesleyan Holiness tradition?

Cherry Run Camp has a Wesleyan holiness emphasis.

Wesleyan Holiness is a Christian theological tradition that emphasizes personal and social holiness as a goal for all believers, rooted in the teachings of Jesus and Scripture, and that of John Wesley and the Holiness movement. It centers on the belief that God’s grace can empower individuals to live a life of complete devotion and purity, not just in personal piety but also in how they interact with the world.

Central to Wesleyan Holiness is the doctrine of entire sanctification that holds that believers can experience a second act of grace, beyond initial salvation, that transforms them into a life of greater holiness. Wesleyans believe that holiness is not just about individual character but also about living in a way that reflects God’s holiness in all aspects of life. Holiness is not seen as a static state, but as a continuous process of growing closer to God and reflecting His holiness in daily life. Wesleyan Holiness emphasizes God’s grace as the source of power for believers to overcome sin and live a holy life, not relying on human willpower alone. Wesleyans value Scripture as the primary source of theological guidance and a guide for living a life of holiness. Jesus Christ is seen as the ultimate example of holiness and along with the Holy Spirit, they are the source of power for believers to live holy lives.
